DAY 7 – ULB ( The Most Beautiful Day of First Fruits)

Last year we tried separating family vacation from the Feast weeks. But that didn’t work so well last year with Isaac’s work. So this year, we decided to try it this way: Family vacation at Feast time. I think it can work if one’s expectations also include Feast things and giving back to Papa his share of our time during the Feast…. Continue reading

Our Melchizedek Passover

I woke up happy! 10 hours of sleep did the trick. I slept until 7:45 am!!! OMG! I never do that! πŸ™‚ This Passover was so much different from the Passovers of our past… Instead of intense preperations for a … Continue reading

Today

Entering the mall today I was quietly disgusted at the pagan holiday coming up and their traditions for it. I remember getting my picture taken with the bunny when I was about 5 years old. I was terrified. There is an old photo of me crying as I sat with the bunny. I hate the bunny! Continue reading

The Real Rosh ha’Shanah!

The attraction with the man-made calendars (equinox etc) is for this very reason. Everyone wants to make plans and those other calendars make it easier to do that. Can’t make too solid of plans with the Creator’s calendar until AFTER Rosh ha’Shanah. This year, we took the chance and made plans BEFORE the Head of the Year. But we knew that we might need to tweek them, if needed. It’s needed. It’s done now. All is fine. πŸ™‚ Now we’ll move on to preparing for Pesach. πŸ™‚ Continue reading

Grateful at Rosh ha’Shanah

I’m so thankful for the beach time that we got, the mountain hikes we took and the coffee dates we had. We are foodies and took so many pictures of great food Papa blessed us with. It was a good year! Continue reading

Shabbat Bliss

Our Shabbat afternoon was full of Hawaiian treats from Hadassah’s Tiki Hut, watching home movies and photos from this past year. We do this so that we could remember the life we lived, be grateful for it and see where Yahovah showed up in the beauty and pain. Continue reading

Town Day and a Rosh ha’Shanah Tiki Hut

It felt so good to have a normal day for me! Full of “GO!” πŸ™‚ Not really my family’s speed, but it is mine and they nearly always like the fruit of my “GO!” mentality. But over the years I have learned that I must be careful HOW I approach them with what I want to accomplish in a day, because to them it’s like trying to stay on a spinning top. They will get nauseous and fall off if I tell them too much at a time. Though, in my head it’s all in a days work and stopping has to be a line-item on my To Do List. I wake up knowing exactly how much I fully intend upon doing in a day. It’s A LOT to them, but really just the basics to me. Continue reading

A “Yah-Loves-Isaac” Trucking Story

Today’s blog is a treat … it’s a story Isaac wrote (literally he wrote it this week) about something cool that happened last week while he was trucking. I call all these kinds of things a “Yah-Loves-Isaac” moment. πŸ™‚ Continue reading

Student Rebekah

I pulled the Rosh ha’Shanah boxes into the living room this morning before anyone woke up. I was hoping the family would begin decorating our apartment in a Hawaiian theme for this weekend. Then I went back to the computer to work. All of a sudden I began to hear a strange sound …. Continue reading
