Shabbat Morning Out
We had a GREAT Shabbat together as a family! I lifted my hands up to YHVH on top of the hill this morning and prayed for the day, my family and all of Israel! And the Ruach ha’Kodesh came and gave us a great day — despite the rain and cold.
My sister-in-law told me about this little place and since it was raining outside and too cold for a hike we decided to check it out. It was the most amazing little local organic bakery called the Grain Shed! How can you go wrong with barley brownies, spicy pesto avocado toast, Ruwanda coffee and ancient Purple Egyptian Barley artisan bread? All non-GMO, organic, local, homemade ingredients on EVERYTHING! And everything baked in a wood fired oven. WOW! We’ll be back! 🙂 It made the start to Shabbat great!
Better Life Challenge Opened up Conversation!
In the afternoon we sat around the living room talking through today’s Better Life Challenge. That was super fun. 🙂 When was the last time you sat around your living room in an engaging conversation with ALL of your family? Been a while for us for sure! Today I got to know my family a little bit more. 🙂 The challenge was to write down what would your “perfect day” would look like – if anything was an option. What a great topic for Shabbat! We thought we were not going to participate in the Challenge on Shabbat, but actually the have been spot on with Shabbat for us! Giving us a great thing to talk about together on this rest day. 🙂 You should really join me in this challenge … 🙂
New Israel Video!
We were going to go to try to go to the hot springs again today, but they were full and not taking any more reservations again. So, this morning I got up early and prepared this video for the family so they could remember our time in Israel at a hot place — the Dead Sea. In the video I talk about the fear we had of how we were going to go from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea. There were 2 ways to get there: either we cross the West Bank (a 30 minute drive) or we go around the West Bank (a 5-hour drive)! Watch the video to see what we did!
